In our previous post, we walked through the process of creating the simplest server possible. This guide will show you a few fun plugins for Hytale Servers that make your gameplay considerably more enjoyable. This is an important aspect of having a successful server: people won’t even spend a minute if your server doesn’t have anything that makes it stand out.
Some of The Most Fun Plugins
The game already has a lot of cool mechanics already, but there is nothing wrong with adding a little more. A lot of people like to go crazy and add an entirely new “tech tree” of items to research and build (a prime example is Compact Claustrophobia). Some times, people just miss a tiny feature they are used from other games, which is often called “Quality of Life”.
User Interface
If you ever played Minecraft, you most likely remember something like this image:

This is from a mod called Jade, but most people might think of WAILA, which is a version that came way before Jade, but got discontinued in 2017 for unknown reasons. I too, think of WAILA when I look at that GIF.
In any case, the good news is there is a plugin that does that for Hytale: its EyeSpy. And… it does exactly the same, nothing else.

If you don’t exactly like how the game map looks like, there is also a plugin for you. In Minecraft, there is no dedicated detailed map like in Hytale, only diegetic maps that you can find or create by combining a compass and 8 pieces of paper. You can still install dedicated maps that have more features.
In Hytale, one of the most famous plugins for that purpose is BetterMap. Among other things, it improves the rendering of the default implementation, has a waypointing feature, and shows waypoints and players in your compass (the thing on top of the screen). It is such a simple set of feature, on can’t help but wonder why the base game doesn’t have it.
Lastly, let’s take a look at Just Enough Tales: if you have played modded Minecraft before, this probably rings a bell. It is the spiritual reconstruction of Just Enough Items (JEI), the mod that shows every single item or block registered in the game, as well as their recipes. JEI is trully an incredible mod.
New Items
Wan’s Wonder Weapons will be the first plugin of our “exhibition”. Believe it or not, this plugin adds 15 new weapons to the game, each with a different recipe. The plugin has a mythologic theme, so all weapons names, recipes and mechanics will follow this. There is probably a trillion mods analogue to this in the Minecraft ecosystem, but one of the most famous used to be The Twilight Forest.

The next is a bit of a weird one but still kind of funny. Item Magnet adds a literal, cartoony magnet that can be used to attract items towards you. It will mostly be helpful when you are mining in dangerous places or with difficult access.
From the same creator of Item Magnet, there is Thorium Chests. This plugin adds 11 new chests to the game, all with increased capacity.

Concluding
There are a lot of other plugins to be mentioned.
As the game gets updates and time goes on, more people will create mods and some unfortunately get discontinued. In either case the game is still in early access, so there is considerably more mods for Minecraft than plugins for Hytale. A lot of plugins don’t even exist yet for things that have been in Minecraft for a long time.
